STLE-Approved Condition Monitoring Training Seminars
Our condition monitoring training modules are well-crafted presentations with in-depth text notes that are delivered to attendees via an electronic form. These seminars are taught either onsite or offered at a designated location several times a year for your convenience. The onsite workshops can be tailored with example cases from your organization or modified to meet your specific training needs.
The team at CMI offers training for all aspects of fluid analysis for private onsite training from 1-4 days—dependent on specific needs. Currently, we are not offering public courses. For a quote, please indicate your goals and requirements, including the number of people attending and the number of days—we can help you assess that if necessary—and we will gladly provide you with an estimate. Thank you for your interest.
We Offer Several Modules, including These Primary Seminars:
Oil Monitoring Analysis – OMA 101 – 2 Days
This introductory oil analysis course draws from various topics and references to the STLE OMA body of knowledge. This course is designed to provide helpful information and definitions for the following types of students: an oiler or person securing the sample, a person preparing to become a data evaluator, a person receiving oil analysis reports, and those in similar positions. Much of the information covered deals with practical information, recommended tests, and standard techniques for sampling—including proper sample information.
Oil Monitoring Analysis – OMA 201 – 2 Days
This is an advanced course designed for evaluators—or the person whose job is to provide recommendations or prepare work orders for the monitored machinery. During this course, the purpose and application of various tests are discussed in-depth for various component types. Understanding data values, sensitivity, and movement (trends) is also thoroughly discussed, as well as the ultimate goal of oil analysis—the delivery of practical assessments of the machine and oil condition.
Numbers of examples are provided throughout the course to demonstrate the thinking and reasoning that should be applied toward arriving at logical and defensible conclusions when rendering commentary. CMI also introduces a chapter on the changing role of oil analysis in terms of holistic machine monitoring.
The advent of dependable lube properties sensors, coupled with evermore sophisticated, portable, onsite analytical instrumentation, propels oil analysis into parity with vibration and all other non-destructive testing (NDT). This provides long-awaited real-time, site-direct machine assessment and protection.
Equipment Lubrication – 2 Days
Nowhere are best practices more important in machinery maintenance than proper equipment lubrication. CMI’s course covers basic and advanced lubrication principles, as well as lubricant and filter selection and maintenance. Storage and delivery considerations are also an essential part of the lubrication program and are correspondingly fully addressed during the course.
Customized Training Programs
CMI is proud to offer individually tailored training at customer sites. These programs are based on topics of particular interest to you and your employees. Please let us know your needs, and we can offer programs of 1-3 days for any number of people (though we recommend limiting classes to 40 people).
Comprehensive Fluid Analysis & Condition Monitoring Training
When it comes to fluid analysis (Fa) no tool is quite as effective as CMI’s Prescient®. Fa laboratories emphasize instrumentation, response time, and software for distributing reports and managing data, and that is fine. However, there is less emphasis on the quality and specificity of the commentary, if any, on the report. Missing in this evolving process is continuous improvement in evaluating the test data toward appropriate maintenance management action. Yet, that is the entire goal of Fa!
Prescient® is an intelligent agent that is designed specifically for Fa data rating and evaluation by blending three distinct processes:
Statistical Data Analysis
This creates boundary tables for assessing test results' severity based on statistical analysis, logic, and hierarchical component categorization.
Nuanced Pattern Recognition
This is the basis of our program's AI and applies tailored comments and combines them with data ratings and expert domain knowledge. This knowledge is continuously updated via ongoing statistical processing and user feedback to deliver the best user experience.
Expert Domain Knowledge
This is applied to combinations of severity ratings in given configurations and applications.
The success of a fluid analysis program depends upon its ability to deliver the analyses to the customer in an intuitive, accessible, and easy-to-use form. That is why Prescient® delivers results to your Web browser in a series of views designed by evaluation experts to provide the presentation of information for each customer and each purpose. Whether you are looking for a quick overview of equipment status or a detailed drill-down into a particular sample and analysis, Prescient® provides the correct information quickly and concisely.
